LENOVO TO EXPAND CLOUD OFFERINGS WITH STONEWARE PURCHASE

➤ Morrisville, N.C.,-based Lenovo has acquired Stoneware, a cloud computing company with a headquarters in Carmel, Ind. and offices in Salt Lake City. Stoneware makes products for distance learning and secure online file and application sharing, and offers a remote desktop client that works with Microsoft Terminal Server, Windows Remote Desktops, and VDI (virtual desktop interface) systems. “Adding Stoneware cloud computing into the Lenovo lineup presents a significant opportunity to leverage their success and enhance our PC Plus offerings,” said Peter Hortensius, senior VP and president of Lenovo’s Product Group, in a statement. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
