ORACLE DEVELOPS LINK FOR NOKIA MAP INTEGRATION

➤ Espoo, Finland-based Nokia provides digital mapping data for large businesses through its NLP (Nokia Location Platform) software, based largely on technology from its 2008 purchase of Navteq, a company that dominated the industry at that time. Now Redwood Shores, Calif.,-based Oracle has developed a simplified link for pulling maps from Nokia’s NLP software for use in its own Oracle Fusion Middleware Map- Viewer for businesses. Citing NLP’s “advanced location platform” and “unique global footprint,” Roy Kolstad, vice president of Nokia’s Enterprise Americas, Location & Commerce division, said the deal “will help businesses save time, money, and resources while allowing them to gain a geographic perspective on their businesses, enabling better decisions.”
